The ASRT Foundation’s 30th anniversary celebration campaign has eclipsed its initial fundraising goal of $3 million dollars and tallied final commitments of $4.1 million. The donations will be used to fund research, scholarships, and career enhancement opportunities for medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals and students.

Launched in June 2014, the Positioning for a Brighter Tomorrow campaign provides the Foundation — the philanthropic arm of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists — with long-term financial stability in its efforts to empower radiologic technologists and strengthen the radiologic technology profession. In addition, the campaign worked to improve collaboration with industry partners to increase the quality and safety of patient care around the world for years to come.

ASRT Foundation Development Manager Keith Greer said, “It is inspiring to see how the medical imaging and radiation therapy community came together to support the campaign from start to finish. Surpassing the goal by over a million dollars in two short years is a testament to the supportive nature of the R.T. community. The success of the campaign can be entirely attributed to the kindness, compassion and generosity of ASRT members and corporate supporters.”

Although the campaign has ended, the Foundation is still offering individuals and corporations the opportunity to have their names included on the ASRT Foundation Donor Wall, which is adjacent to the ASRT Museum and Archives at the ASRT office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In addition, the opportunity to purchase naming rights to facilities and meeting spaces at the ASRT office, and to create new, personalized program awards, is still available.

The Foundation invites individuals and corporations to make transformational gifts through the giving opportunities created by the campaign. These gifts will help medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals and students advance through scholarships, grants and fellowship opportunities. In addition, donations will enhance collaborative initiatives to improve R.T. education and patient care.

Those wishing to make a transformational gift may donate cash, leave a deferred gift through a will or trust, provide a combined gift or make a contribution with stock, mutual funds or marketable securities.
